iddieeotizada.

Hi Joan,

Just in case you come around... I write you here because I think today the class and me haven't thank you all the things we have learnt in this subject with you.

I must confess that at the beginning we all thought that your lessons were a little bit crazy but day after day you have shown us that you plan your activities very carefully and everything has the same direction: tips for us as future teachers.

Thank you very much, I promise you I feel I have learnt a lot with you and I expect being as creative in my lessons as you have been this year.

STORY-BASED APPROACH

STAGES

1. Presentation: teacher prepares for the grammar explanation by using a short story. The emphasis is on comprenhension and meaning.

2. Attention: Teacher recycles the story pictures, TPR, role playing... Again wemphasis on meaning

3. Co-Construction: Once meaning is understood the teachers' turn the learners attention to focus on form. Both teacher and learner co-construct the grammar explanation.

4. Extension: Learners are told to use the grammatical structures to carry out a particular task.

activity idea

Continuum: pupils establish a continuum accross the classroom, where the two ends of the line represent totally opposed points of view.

For intsnace, I can show students from the right side a picture and they all have to say good characteristics of it. On the other hand, stduents on the left side of the classroom have to list the negative aspects of it.
